Member #52806 :: Car Show Entry

Car Description:
I had bought this vehicle in high school to be a fun daily to learn to drive manual in and ended up falling in love with the performance and handling, with me being 17 unfortunately it soon needed an engine and the car turned into my long term project.

Around the same time one of my friends crashed his wrx in a reckless driving accident claiming the life of his passenger. I bought the remains of the car to fix mine and devoted the build to the passenger to hopefully make some changes in the car community regarding reckless driving.
My mother kindly hand painted a mural on the bottom of my hood in honor of Olivia who passed in the accident and although the build is far from finished it's my goal to make it to Subiefest this year.

Our cars were in the show last year since then we have spent all year working on improving our builds, adding a few mods and lots of structural repairs.
Being able to work on this car has gotten me into the Subaru community where I've met tons of new people, there is no other community quite like Subarus. They are very welcoming and helpful, even in my home town we have a small community of people who help source parts, go for drives and meet people with similar interests. When Subiefest tickets appear online we are all gathering at each other's houses to help prepare our builds, my car wouldn't have made it without all of these devoted people.

I'm super excited to bring it in for a second year, last year my car met my goals, although it was barely running it arrived under its own power. We ended up towing my friend's car in but we had achieved our goal and made it to Subiefest. This car has been the biggest factor in us obtaining our mechanic skills, the more we change the build the more we learn, this car has built our love of wrenching and have advanced our careers into automotive technicians at dealerships, I have a job at Nissan and he has a job at Subaru.

These cars are often an extension of the drivers personality and though my car is far from perfect and far from being finished it's been a huge part in our careers and lives. We've tried to make it a reminder that cars are wonderful things and are so much fun for enthusiasts, however they are unable to entirely protect us from our own actions so even when having fun they need to be driven responsibly. Although this car doesn't have a very impressive spec sheet, look the best or even perform the best, we hope to leave people with a different view on the way cars affect people's lives.

As far as modifications go I have added a sr5 exhaust, full stock rebuild on the engine, bigger injectors, high flow fuel pump, tune from a local tuner, Grimmspeed 3port, aftermarket wheels, and tein lowering springs.
